BT is now offering their BT Total Broadband customers the option of upgrading their package to include a new digital TV service.
Access to Freeview digital channels comes as standard, along with the ability to choose from a huge range of on demand programmes and films.
BT Vision customers can pay per programme (with films from £1.99), or choose from one of their superb value subscription packages (from £6 a month).
Customers applying for the Vision package will receive BT’s V-Box for free (saving £199), which can record, pause and rewind TV without the need for video tapes.
Connection
Connection fee costs just £30, and if you’re not too hot with technology you can have it installed by an engineer for an extra £60.
BT Vision’s entertainment packages are available on a flexible monthly basis, with no long-term tie-in. This is excellent for commitment phobes, as you can cancel whenever you want.
The Basic TV Package, Music and Kids each cost £6, Sports costs £4 and TV Replay costs £5. If you’re unable to choose, a Value Pack is available for just £14 a month, and includes TV, TV Replay, Music Videos and Kids Packs – saving you £7 a month.
Pay As You Go
If none of the packs take your fancy, a ‘pay as you go’ option is available, whereby you only pay for what you watch. Films and sport cost from £1.99, music from 29p and kids programmes from 49p.
In order to access the Freeview digital TV channels, you will need to live in a Freeview area.
Check out www.freeview.co.uk to see if you’re covered, before you rush to apply.
You’ll also need to be a BT Total Broadband customer in order to qualify for the Vision package. If you’re not one already you can apply when you order BT Vision.
BT is not the only broadband provider offering digital TV through its broadband connections. Broadband provider Tiscali rolled out a similar, and arguably better, service in the summer.
