Is Tiscali any good?
The cheapest UK broadband provider Tiscali may have you wondering: Is Tiscali any good? Julia Kukiewicz digs deeper into the Tiscali broadband packages and reveals whether, indeed, Tiscali broadband is any good.
How does Tiscali TV compare to Sky and Virgin Media?
Tiscali, the champions of low-cost broadband, has finally launched its new digital TV service, and with prices starting at a mere £19.99, it’s set to take on Virgin Media and Sky head to head!
Tiscali Hits Out at On-demand TV Services
Tiscali has hit out at the clutch of recently-launched TV on-demand services such as the BBC’s iPlayer saying the services will undoubtedly cause internet congestion.

TISCALI, the Italian-based internet provider with close to 1.5 million high-speed internet customers across the UK, has finally rolled out its bundled digital TV service.
With ambitions to convert half a million users to the new service, Tiscali are aiming their new bundle at viewers who aren’t satisfied with the 30 or so basic free digital channels available via Freeview, but who do not want to pay the top end prices for a full satellite or cable package.
Mary Turner, chief executive of Tiscali UK said: "By Christmas 2007 Tiscali TV will reach almost 10 million homes and we believe we can offer great value digital TV and the best value Triple Play service in the UK for those who don't want to pay for expensive premium TV, but do want more than Freeview."
Tiscali says it will offer over 80 channels, and will succeed where Virgin Media failed – by offering the much sought after Sky One! This really is great news for fans of Lost and 24! The package will also include broadband and telephone rental.
Bruce Stevens, Broadband Technical Editor for ChooseISP.co.uk is excited by this latest news from Tiscali: "We’re thrilled to see Tiscali finally rolling its TV service out as part of their already excellent broadband bundles. It may not be as comprehensive as the digital TV offerings from Sky and Virgin Media, but it fills nicely the gap between those services and Freeview."
Tiscali aspire to reach almost 10 million home by the end of 2007, at least half a million of which it hopes will sign up to its new internet-based TV service.
Tiscali is starting its triple play package (TV, phone and broadband) from just £19.99 or £24.99 for a faster broadband connection and unlimited phone calls to landlines and some international destinations.
For an extra £22 a month, customers can add Sky Sports channels to their package, and be able to watch two thirds of Premier League football matches!
Bruce Stevens is surprised about just how good value for money the service is.
"When you consider what you get with the Tiscali broadband, phone and TV bundle and then look at the price, it’s almost unbelievable. These prices would be considered decent enough for broadband alone, but here you’re getting phone packages and, it has to be said, a fantastic TV package too."
"The TV, Phone & Broadband bundle market has just got a whole lot hotter," he added.
So, yet another contestant joins the strongly competitive broadband bundle market, meaning yet another package to consider when choosing what the best option is for you!
