BT Broadband & Phone BundleIndependent review with up to date prices, details and special offers for this package...
BT broadband review: Broadband & PhoneCHANCES are you already get your phone service from BT so it makes sense to think about going to them for your broadband too. Having previously been regarded as a bit complacent when it came to broadband deals BT has made a bit more of an effort here with a plethora of extras as well as their very respectable up to 20Mb speeds and your choice of phone call deals. BT's Best Broadband With an up to 20Mb broadband speed BT's broadband and phone bundle is regarded as a mid-market product. However, up to 20Mb should be more than speedy enough for most users. Depending on the phone package you decide to take up you will get a certain amount of usage. The Broadband + Calls and Broadband + Anytime Calls deals come complete with a 10GB usage limit and More Broadband + Calls with 40GB. 10GB should allow you to download around 3,000 songs OR watch around 20 mid-quality 45-minute BBC iPlayer programs. If you largely use the internet for surfing then this should pose no problem. Unsurprisingly, Unlimited Broadband + Calls is unlimited so there's no worry about download allowances there, although very heavy downloaders should watch out for BT's fair-use policy. All the broadband deals entitle you to a free BT Wireless home hub and 10GB of online storage for your files with BT Vault. Weekend or Anytime Calls BT seem to have ditched their Evening and Weekend call plans. Now there's a choice between unlimited UK landline calls at the Weekend or Anytime. Both deals start with a few basic features: you'll have to pay BT's line rental - £11.54 a month - and then you'll get services such as 1517 voicemail, free texts every month and security extras like caller ID. Remember that 'inclusive' calls are only free for up to sixty minutes, you'll have to hang up and redial just before your hour's up to keep them free. ' Discount on Line Installation After a period of offering it completely free BT are now charging £50 if you need a new line installed in your property. That's better than half price which still isn't bad, though if you're um-ing an ah-ing about getting cable TV service you could get the line installed for free with BT Broadband, TV & Phone Bundles. BT has certainly pulled it's now-more-fashionable socks up... at least a little bit. However, these packages certainly aren't the cheapest broadband and phone deals around. For example, Plusnet are owned by BT but Plusnet Value broadband is just £4.99 and their line rental is cheaper than BT's too. In all, though, these deals do offer good value for money, a fair abundance of luxury extras and a quality of service you can rely on.
