BT Broadband, TV & Phone BundleIndependent review with up to date prices, details and special offers for this package...
BT broadband review: Broadband, TV & PhoneTHE attraction of getting your calls, TV and broadband all in one place is obvious: less paperwork and less hassle. BT's Broadband, TV and phone bundles also make things easier by being generally reliable and good value for money. A Quick Primer... There are three BT broadband, TV and Phone bundle options to choose from: TV, Broadband + Calls for £17.99 a month; More TV, Broadband and Calls for £33.99 and Unlimited TV, Broadband + Calls for £48.99. With the two cheapest packages you'll get a basic broadband and phone service (Option 1 broadband and inclusive weekend calls) - the only difference is the TV channels you get in the bundle. Only with Talk, Watch and Surf Unlimited do you get more broadband and phone for your buck: Option 3 and inclusive anytime calls as well as even more channels. BT's Best Broadband With an up to 20Mb broadband speed BT's broadband and phone bundle is regarded as a mid-market product, but up to 20Mb is by no means slow and should be more than adequate for most users. With Option 2 (the broadband with the two cheapest options) there is a very fair 40GB monthly usage limit. 10GB should allow you to download around 3,000 songs OR watch around 20 mid-quality 45-minute BBC iPlayer programs. So this should pose no problems, especially if you largely use the internet for surfing then. With Option 3 broadband you don't have to worry about your download limits - the service is unlimited - but there is a fair use policy in place so super-heavy downloaders should be wary. All the broadband deals entitle you to a free BT Wireless home hub and 10GB of online storage for your files with BT Vault. Call Plans BT's call deal comes with all the basic features you'd expect: services such as 1517 voicemail, free texts every month and security extras like caller ID. Remember that you'll also have to pay BT's line rental (£11.54 a month) on top of your monthly price. Non-inclusive landline calls are priced at 4.5p/minute (with 8p connection charge). "Free" Line Installation If you need a new phone line installed than those nice people at BT will do it for free when you take up any BT broadband, TV and phone deals. Well, we say free... Actually even though in theory you'll save £124.99 BT will charge you £4.99 more per month for your broadband, phone and TV package (or £89.82 over the 18-month contract). It's also worth noting that you'll need to make at least 10 chargeable or inclusive calls per month to qualify. If you don't make those calls in a month you'll be liable to pay compensation charges of £6.80. Like we said, nice people. TV Guide Choose between Bronze and Gold TV deals. Again, there are a few basic features with each: you can get a BT Vision+ Box for £45. This offers a basic set of channels - 40 freeview channels and 30 radio stations - plus the ability to pause and rewind live TV and record and store up to 80 hours of your favourite TV. You can also get on-demand TV from 77p a show. In sum, if you're looking for a great mixture of packages on Broadband, Phone and TV with minimal hassle and great service, BT's bundles could be for you.
