Review of BT Total Option 2 + BT Vision
- Reliable 8MB BT broadband
- Free evening and weekend broadband calls
- Free Wireless BT Home Hub
- Free V-Box Digital TV Recorder
- Access to BT's excellent on-demand TV content
|
THIS is not srictly an independent BT package since anyone taking BT Total Option 2 is entitled to get BT Vision and the BT V-Box free of charge.
We have included it here for the sake of completeness and to highlight that the BT Total broadband packages can include digital TV too.
So how does the BT Vision part of this package work?
On demand TV
Once BT Total Option 2 is up and running, you will be eligible for BT Vision - BT's on-demand TV service offering sport, music videos, movies and more for a small pay-per-view fee.
BT Vision's on-demand content is streamed through your broadband line and to the free V-Box Digital TV recorder that BT will give you.
The BT V-Box is a marvellous bit of kit, acting as a receiver for all the Freeview channels as well as allowing you to select and watch any of the premium, pay-per-view content offered by BT when you want to watch it.
Pause and rewind
But that's not all, it also lets you pause and rewind live TV in addition to recording up to 80 hours of TV shows (including the ability to record an entire series with a single button-click). You can read a full review of BT's V-Box Digital TV Recorder here.
The content available to you via BT Vision is impressive (though perhaps not as impressive as its rival Tiscali TV which actually offers normal TV channels - including Sky One - in addition to the pay-per-view content), and includes music videos (for 29p), sports events (from 99p), kids programmes, TV shows and a tasty collection of on-demand movies (£1.99 - £2.99).
Fantastic pool of content
If you consider that as BT Total Broadband customer you'll only need to pay a £30 activation fee for the privelege of BT Vision, it is hard to see why anyone in their right mind would turn down the opportunity for such a fantastic pool of on-demand content. And a free, digital TV recorder!

Customer Reviews
Remember, the customer reviews below are subjective (and are not the opinions of ChooseISP.co.uk).
Miss C Robertson from Tamworth writes... 12/04/2008 "I have been with BT for about 4 months now and have to say it has been our best broadband service to date, we have previously had virgin media who constantly messed up the billing and billed us for things we didnt even know what they were and Aol who sent out an installation disk with the modem which was supposed to be straight forward and ended up in numerous phonecalls. BT was no problem to install and the service has been great, bills never get queried and we wont be changing for a long time. BT Total Broadband Reccommended to everyone."
