Eclipse Internet broadband review: Home Pro

PRO is the big daddy of Eclipse Internet's new fast broadband packages.

Weighing in with a pretty hefty price tag, this package has heavyweight tattooed right across its neck.

Impressive Speeds

For starters, you'll get impressive up to 24Mb speeds, making Eclipse Internet one of the fastest broadband providers in the UK.

And while this package is not strictly unlimited - you get a 100GB usage allowance - you'd have to be going some to come anywhere close to using that amount.

You are of course, getting what you paid for, as this package could not be described as cheap broadband. It does however offer good value.

Free talk anytime package

One of the Eclipse Internet Home Pro's most undersold features is that it includes, for free, Eclipse Talkmore home phone package which offers free, unlimited anytime UK landline calls and reduced rates for calling mobile phones and internationally.

Alone the Talkmore package costs £5.86. Here it is included free.

Control how your connection performs

It is, however, the Eclipse Internet Traffic Controller tool which gets most people excited about this Home Pro package.

The Traffic Controller allows you to prioritise certain web activities over others, essentially tweaking your connection to work at its optimum capacity for the things you do most.

For example, if you are mostly using this Eclipse Internet Home Pro broadband package for online gaming, you'll set your Traffic Controller sliders to full power for online gaming, and low power for all other activities.

This then orders the connection to prioritise this activity over all others.

It's a fabulous tool - copied by others, but never to quite the same degree as the Eclipse Internet offering.

Is the Eclipse Internet Home Pro package any good?

Yes it is - but you are paying a price for it.

For most users, Eclipse Internet's 50GB a month Eclipse Home Select package should be more than enough.

However, if you are a super-heavy user who wants the fastest speeds and a massive usage allowance from a broadband provider renowned for its consistency and customer service, then you won't go too far wrong with the Eclipse Internet Home Pro.
