COMING in on the rather expensive side of things for a 1Mb broadband package, the Fasthosts Broadband 1024 package is perhaps not for every broadband user.
After all, you can get much, much cheaper broadband elsewhere - with higher speeds too - but being a dedicated web hosting company, Fasthosts does bring some new tunes to the party.
So what do you get for paying Fasthosts this much for a 1Mb broadband connection?
No tie-in
For starters, Fasthosts does not tie you into a contract, but this of course means you will have to provide your own hardware, and worse, you'll have to pay Fasthosts a rather annoying £50 activation fee.
However you do get your own plot of Fasthosts' professional-grade hosted web space as well as a .com or .co.uk domain name.
Attractive email package
The Fasthosts package also comes equipped with a very attractive email package offering 15 standard mailboxes, webmail and - for 'Crackberry' addicts - Direct Push mobile for Exchange mailboxes.
Fasthosts broadband is particularly well regarded for its excellent and free 24/7 technical support.
After all, there is no company better equipped to handle technical issues than a techy company like Fasthosts.
That said, you'd still have to be pretty dedicated to the Fasthosts broadband cause to want to pay this much for a 1Mb connection, when you can get both faster broadband and cheaper broadband with equally competent technical support elsewhere.
