WHEN it comes to awards for the worst business name ever conceived, Nildram will definitely be in the lineup.

Ironic then that they'll also probably be nominees for best loved broadband provider too!

Yes, Nildram - the broadband provider that sounds like a character in Revenge of the Nerds - scores sky-high in the user satisfaction stakes.

And this Nildram Homeworker Lite package is the company's top up to 24Mb homeworker broadband product on ADSL2+ technology - so you'll also get up to 1Mb upload speeds.

Short contract package

First off the bat, at 3 months this is a short-contract package, which is always a bonus.

Alternatively, you can sign up for a 12 month contract and you'll get 1 month free (the 13th month) for doing so.

Unfortunately, you do have to provide - or buy - your own modem or router. But, on a more positive note, Nildram has scrapped setup and activation fees for this package (if you're switching from another provider and have a MAC code), which is a rarity for short contract broadband packages.

25GB usage allowance

The Nildram Homeworker Lite package itself is excellent.

You'll get speeds of up to 24Mb with a very generous 25GB of inclusive data usage for peak hours. If you're a heavy downloader, you'll be pleased to see that Nildram, similarly to our favourites Plusnet, will only impose the restriction on your usage between peak hours (6pm - 11pm).

Home-workers

The Nildram Homeworker Lite package also includes a free static IP - which is handy if you need to connect to a Virtual Private Network for work.

Nildram also offer a 'Callback' support - so you won't have to wait in any telephone queues, you'll also get backup 0845 dial-up access from anywhere in the UK and 100MB of non-commercial web space.

Nildram are stacked with awards and accolades, so while the package price is on the higher end of the scale (remember Nildram's website prices are excluding VAT - but we've added 15% VAT to our displayed prices) perhaps the higher price is not too high a price to pay!.
