Review of Plusnet Broadband Your Way: Option 1

WE'RE great fans of Plusnet and are not ashamed to declare that our office broadband is supplied by these guys.

Over the years they have proven themselves to be a consistently reliable and always affordable broadband provider, but holy cow, we've never in our lives seen a company that creates, modifies, chops, changes and u-turns as much as Plusnet have in trying to settle on a range of broadband packages.

Finally, under new leadership, we think they have done it!

And how! A week hardly seems to go by where Plusnet is not scooping up an award of some sort for their well-supported and brilliantly conceived broadband packages.

Flexible as a 13-year old Russian gymnast

This Plusnet Option 1 package is part of Plusnet's excellent 'Broadband Your Way' scheme which gives users the most flexible range of packages we have ever seen.

Plusnet Option 1 broadband offers a super low-cost 8Mb broadband connection, but is limited to just 1GB of peak usage. Don't panic though.

Unlimited overnight usage

Firstly, you have unlimited usage overnight with no fair use policy to tied you down (we really like that) but if you want, you can use their awesome little 'Broadband Your Way' calculator tool which lets you increase how much usage you want per month for marginal increments in price.

Alternatively extra bandwidth can just be charged to your account for £1 per GB, or if you decide to 'top up' prior to reaching your limit, an extra GB will only cost 75p. We told you these guys were flexible!

Short or long contract

A monthly contract is standard across this and all other Plusnet broadband packages, but you will have to pay an activation fee. If you opt for a 12 month contract though, you'll get free activation and get to keep the (not wireless) router.

Plusnet, we have to take our hats off to you. It was a long time coming, but the 'Broadband Your Way' series of broadband packages is fantastic.

Please don't change a thing! (Unless you fancy dropping the activation fee for the one month contract).

"I was a Plusnet broadband customer already but switched over to the Broadband Your Way Pro about 10 days ago. At first I didn't notice a huge difference, but after a few days I really can tell. I'm definitely more competitive now. I recommend this Plusnet package for gamers."
