IN the past, Sheffield-based broadband provider Plusnet had the unfortunate reputation of being the Prince Philip of the broadband world: prone to gaffes, but steadfast and endearing.

Under new leadership Plusnet has truly shed that image though and now, clutching a fistful of customer satisfaction accolades and awards as well as a spanking new logo and design, have blown us all away with their fantastic new series of broadband packages called 'Broadband Your Way'.

After years of seeing Plusnet flounder around trying to find the right series of packages to capture the market, they have steadied the ship and with no (big) changes to speak of over the last year, we think they have done it.

Of course, Plusnet being Plusnet, we have seen them create and drop a few packages here and there but we have to admit, the changes have always been for the better.

More flexible than Nadia Comaneci

This Plusnet Option 2 package is part of Plusnet's remarkable new 'Broadband Your Way' scheme which gives users the most flexible range of broadband packages we have ever seen. Plusnet Option 2 offers a super low-cost 8Mb broadband connection, with a generous 15Gb of peak usage.

15GB not enough?

Firstly, you have unlimited usage overnight (with no fair policy to stand in your way) but if you want, you can use their nifty little 'Broadband Your Way' calculator tool which lets you increase how much usage you want per month for only marginal increments in price.

Excellent security suite

There are tons of Plusnet extras that make this such a fantastic broadband package, from the very comprehensive security suite to the inclusive, free broadband phonecalls.

And lets not forget Plusnet's prioritisation of gaming traffic on their network (and their passionate support of gaming technology).

Want it for a month?

The package is a standard one-month contract, but if you want to avoid the Plusnet activation fee and get a free 1-port wireless router you should plump for the 12 month contract instead.

If you do that and decide to leave before the 12 months is up, you'll just have to pay the activation fee (currently £40) and the cost of the hardware (currently £50)

If you require any further recommendation of Plusnet, you'll be interested to know that we at ChooseISP have been using Plusnet as our main broadband provider for 7 years and have never felt the need to switch.

"I was a Plusnet broadband customer already but switched over to the Broadband Your Way Pro about 10 days ago. At first I didn't notice a huge difference, but after a few days I really can tell. I'm definitely more competitive now. I recommend this Plusnet package for gamers."
