IT'S not hard to see why Toucan receives such a bad press. Take a look at any Toucan consumer reviews and your face will melt from the vitriol being sprayed around the room.
Unlimited?
What is the cause of these acidic outburts? They all stem from Toucan's rather misleading use of the term unlimited. Like most unlimited packages, they operate a fair use policy, however in Toucan's case their fair use policy is a lot stricter than most.
Use more than 1GB of data per week between peak times and you'll get shunted to Toucan's slowwww lane.
Anyone who hasnt read Toucan's small print will either find this unjustly punitive, or simply assume that Toucan's broadband is dead slow!
Odd
However, even if you are willing to live within the rather restrictive confines of Toucan's fair use policy (and their reportedly awful customer service), the Toucan 8Mb Broadband and ToucanTalk All-You-Can Off-Peak package is an odd one.
Sure, you get a reasonably priced (but by no means cheapest) 8Mb broadband package with free modem and free setup, but in order to enjoy free weekend and evening calls to UK landlines you have to pay a monthly fee of £3.75 on top.
Correct us if we are wrong, but there are a ton of other broadband packages available offering the exact same thing for much less.
Low cost line rental
Remember, in order to get this package you must take your line rental with Toucan. This is not a bad thing at all, as Toucan's low cost line rental is currently the cheapest we know of.
